Spicy potatoes recipe and books

So you would like to know how to make Spicy potatoes recipe! It is not hard, follow the steps below and enjoy your own creation. Check our books section as well!


spicy potatoes

600g potatoes peeled and cubed
2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp oil
2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal (skinned split black lentils) 10 curry leaves plus extra to garnish
200g onions sliced
1 green chilli sliced
1 tbsp tomato puree
cm cube fresh ginger crushed
1/2 tsp chilli powder
100g tomatoes sliced
100g bell pepper deseeded and sliced 100g peas

Place the potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with water.
Add 1 tsp of the turmeric and some salt bring to the boil and cook for 1 minutes or until the potatoes are soft.
Drain and set aside.
Heat the oil in a large frying pan or wok over a medium heat.
Add the mustard seeds and as they begin to pop add the urad dal and curry leaves. Stir fry until the dal turns golden.
Add the onions green chilli and some salt and cook stirring frequently until the onions turn brown.
Add the tomato puree ginger chilli powder and 1 tsp turmeric.
Cook for 1 minute then add the tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes stirring occasionally.
Lower the heat and mix in the pepper and peas.
Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes then add the drained potatoes stir thoroughly and serve.
